More than 30,000 bottles of hand sanitizer donated and delivered to protect seniors from COVID-19 in LA

Vulnerable communities in Los Angeles are being hit hard by COVID-19 and it’s heartbreaking to watch the news reports. Senior citizens are one of the most vulnerable communities and becoming infected with coronavirus is a serious threat to their lives.

In response to the urgent need to help seniors in Los Angeles, the Millions of Mask for Children team rallied together with volunteers from the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region to deliver more than 30,000 bottles of hand sanitizer donated by FLTR, Inc. Thanks again to our fantastic partner FLTR for their donation of the hand sanitizer and the shipping of the hand sanitizer to LA!

Tammy Reese-Williams, Executive Nutrition Director, Valley InterCommunity Council, had this to say: “We are so grateful to have received the masks and hand sanitizers for our seniors, staff, and volunteers! These donations help keep our older adult clients safe, as well as, our drivers who deliver meals to our seniors. We are forever grateful for your partnership and generosity during this challenging time. Thank you so much for your kindness.”

The Millions of Masks for Children team and smartAID are also working hard to organize and deliver more than one million masks to kids in the LA region within the next few weeks thanks to another generous donation from FLTR, Inc. We’re also very appreciative of our partner DHL Americas and DHL Express for providing delivery of these masks on a pro-bono basis.

DONATE: Please join us in helping vulnerable communities during the COVID-19 pandemic by donating to the Millions of Masks for Children Initiative, sponsored by smartAID, at kidmasks.org.
